Fresh off the runway from the New York Bridal Market in April, there's talk of irresistible trends and favorite things from two top Maryland salons. Sandy Leone of Love Couture Bridal enthusiastically welcomed a stunning line by Belgian designer Rembo Styling to her Potomac salon after viewing their new introductions at Market. Their dresses spoke to a "boho" side, as Sandy describes it, with an emphasis on purely effortless style.
"My favorite trends from Fall 2015 were the soft, ethereal tulle gowns paired with delicate cap or long lace sleeves," says Sandy. She admits she also fell in love with the geometric cut-outs from Hayley Paige - and glorious illusion gowns that "pushed the envelope" just a bit with swirling skirts and luxurious layers.
Betsy Robinson of Betsy Robinson's Bridal Collection echoed the same sentiment and excitement over a definite ethereal mood on the runway, featuring heavenly silk chiffons and soft, English netting. Even though lace will always be at the heart of bridal, Betsy sees less of a focus on overall lace, and more emphasis on long illusion sleeves, low illusion backs and layers of soft blush undertones. Betsy found the soft romance of everything she saw enormously appealing and also embraced the look of stunning, multi-color embroidery and soft watercolor prints on equally soft silk chiffon for her Baltimore salon.
"Carolina Herrera showed beautiful multi-color embroidery on a new dress and veil," says Betsy. "Galia Lahav also introduced a beautiful, soft blue dress." Could collections with those playful pastels be a lucky bride's amazing "something blue?"
